Croatia wins duel of neighbours

The match for places 7 and 8 was carried out between Slovenia and Croatia. The expected advantage in Croatia’s playing stayed away. The Slovenes compensated their disadvantage concerning their height by their maximal encouragement and could also carry out most of their chances.

On the other side you could see the disappointment of the Croats, which seems to stick in their bones since their hurtful defeat against Serbia and Montenegro, in every move. Slovenia finished the first period with a short 13:12 lean and started full of verve into the second half, too. In the end it was a tough but fair match, where Croatia finally was the lucky winner. They won with 26:25 and achieved 7th place.
